President Jacob Zuma to address National Women's Day celebrations

President Jacob Zuma will on Monday, 9 August 2009, deliver the keynote address at the National Women's Day celebrations to take place at the ABSA Stadium, East London, in the Eastern Cape. The President will be accompanied by the Minister for Women, Children and Persons with Disabilities, Ms Noluthando Mayende-Sibiya, Premier of the Eastern Cape, Ms Noxolo Kiviet, and other senior government officials. 

The theme for this year's celebration is "Working Together for Equal Opportunities and Progress for all Women" and the slogan is "Forward to the Decade of African Women".

The 2009 Women's Day celebration will be preceded by a memorial service and an interfaith service at the Portsdam-campus of the Walter Sisulu University and the Orient Theatre at the beachfront respectively.
