President Jacob Zuma to address the Accord Peace Award Ceremony

President Jacob Zuma will attend the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD) seventh Africa Peace Awards gala dinner on Friday 30 April 2010.

The Africa Peace Award (APA) was initiated by ACCORD in 1993 to recognise the efforts of individuals, communities and nations that have turned conflict into peace. Initially a South African Award, the APA was extended to the whole of Africa in 1995 in the hope that it would promote peace, create role models and instil a sense of pride in the people of Africa.

This year the award goes to the People of Sierra Leone and will be received by President Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone.

The details are as follows:

Date: Friday, 30 April 2010
