Police Ministers of South Africa and China to hold discussions around safety and security

The Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa will tomorrow hold bilateral discussions with Mr Chen Zhimin, Deputy Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China and his delegation.

The discussions will amongst others, focus around cooperation on combating transnational crimes, maintaining social order as well as sharing lessons around security models between the two countries.

South Africa and China enjoy pragmatic and friendly cooperation on various aspects, ranging from economic to socio agreements. The discussions will also look at various ways of consolidating and exchanging of intelligence information, drug trafficking, illegal immigration, money laundering, arms smuggling to mention but a few. The two ministers will then brief the media, details as follows:
