Opening of new clinic, Hondeklipbaai

The MEC of Health in province, Mr Mxolisi Sokatsha, hereby invites all media to the officially opening of following new clinic: Hondeklipbaai, Kamiesberg local municipality, Namaqua district, Northern Cape province.

The new clinic forms part of government's 10 point plan for the health sector as capsulated under the following:

  • Point six: revitalisation of health infrastructure and
  • Point three: improving the quality of healthcare services.

The construction of the Hondeklipbaai clinic started in February 2009 and reached practical completion by March 2010 at a cost of R6 million. The reason for the delay in completion was due to the adding of staff accommodation at the clinic.

The partners in this project are the Northern Cape provincial Department of Health, the Kamiesberg local municipality as well as the Department of Roads and Public Works. These projects are a true reflection that working together, we can do more!

Other dignitaries expected to accompany the MEC for Health are the Speaker of the Northern Cape provincial legislature, members of Parliament, chairperson and members of the provincial Portfolio Committee on Health, Members of the Executive Council (MECs), the executive mayor and Speaker of the Namaqua district municipality, the mayor of the Kamiesberg local municipality, municipal counsellors as well as senior officials from the provincial and district Department of Health.
