Nzimande to address the 2010 Annual International Council for Open and Distance Education Standing Conference of Presidents dinner

Executive leaders of open learning and distance education institutions around the world will meet in Pretoria next week to discuss higher education policy and practice in the sector. The University of South Africa is hosting the Annual International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) Standing Conference of Presidents (SCOP) meeting under the theme “Bridging the Developmental Gap”. The conference deals with the role of distance education in addressing the developmental needs of the world.

The Minister of Higher Education and Training Dr Blade Nzimande will address a dinner hosted by UNISA Principal and Vice Chancellor Professor Barney Pityana for the 120 high level participants.

Members of the media are invited to attend the dinner.
