National Assembly debate on International Day of Democracy

Parliament’s National Assembly will tomorrow, Wednesday, 15 September debate International Day of Democracy. The debate will review progress made in meeting international commitments in the area of democracy and human rights, with a focus on areas for future efforts.

The United Nations instituted International Day of Democracy in 2007 and the day is aimed at providing an opportunity for countries to reflect on the meaning and significance of democracy.
