In responding to the call by the President of the country to extend a helping hand to the poor and the destitute, Social Development Minister, Edna Molewa will join Gift of the Givers Foundation in handing out food parcels and blankets to the needy.
This is a continuation of the partnership that goes back to 2002, when the foundation was one of the first to respond to the department’s call for partnership in alleviating the suffering of poor families. The Gift of the Givers Foundation has a rich history of making co-operation with government an integral part of its operations in disaster response and aid delivery in both South Africa and internationally.
In its 16 year period of existence the foundation has delivered R300 million of aid to millions of people in 25 countries.
