Minister of Energy Ms Dipuo Peters to address the Investec Power Summit

South Africa's marked economic growth in recent years has propelled electricity peak demand to rise at around four percent a year in a high growth scenario.

There is an increased realisation of the role that independent power producers (IPPs) can play in the supply of generation capacity in South Africa.

The Investec Power Summit aims to highlight issues and challenges in the energy sector that are pertinent to both investors in the power sector, and industries highly dependent on power availability in the southern hemisphere.

Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the summit which will be attended by major national and international stakeholders in the electricity sector.
