The memorial service of the late former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Land Affairs, Advocate Dirk Cornelius du Toit who passed away on Monday, 1 June 2009, will be held on Thursday, 4 June 2009, in the Old Assembly Chamber, Parliament in Cape Town. The one hour service starts at 12h00 to 13h00.
The late Deputy Minister died of an apparent heart attack and the funeral service will be on Friday, 5 June at 14h00, Groote Kerk, Parliament Street in Cape Town.
He was elected to the National Assembly in 1994 and re-elected in 1999 and 2004. He also played a major role in the drafting of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa.
