Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane briefs media on Department Of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities 2022/23 Budget Vote, 19 May

Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, will deliver the Budget Vote (Vote 20) of the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities on Thursday, 19 May 2020, from 16:30-18:15. Minister Nkoana-Mashabane will address the media on the department’s Budget Vote on 19 May 2022, from 10:00-11:00 via Zoom.

Minister Nkoana-Mashabane will report on efforts to eradicate gender-based violence and femicide and implementation of the Gender Responsive Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation Framework which has been broadened to include youth and disability as well. The media engagement will allow the department to report on its mandate in advocating for, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of empowerment programmes for women, youth and persons with disabilities.

The address will also update on the work of the National Youth Development Agency in rolling out Presidential Youth Employment Intervention, and progress made in realising the rights of persons with disabilities.

The appropriation of the department increases from R763.5 million in the 2021/22 Financial Year to R987.2 million in 2022/23.
