The traditional initiation season enters its third week since the launch in Mthatha on 27 June 2014.
It has been noted with concern that 24 young lives have been lost in the traditional rite of passage to mould boys into responsible manhood. The leadership of the Province mourns the death of these young men and also conveys its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
It is against this background that a media briefing is planned to be addressed by the Premier of the Eastern Cape Province Mr Phumulo Masualle and the MEC for the Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs, Mr Fikile Xasa. The details are as follows:
