MEC Jonas and the Department of Finance in joining the world in celebrating the life and birthday of Nelson Mandela, has undertaken to do sustainable community work and launch its project in a site handover for construction of administration block in Moses Mabhida High School, through the words of this great man when he said:

"It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation".

Therefore, consistent with electoral mandate of this administration in prioritising education, the Executive Committee of Eastern Cape in the beginning of the year embarked on back to schools campaign.

MEC Jonas responsible for Finance, Economic Affairs, Environment and Tourism was deeply moved by dedication and commitment shown by pupils, teachers, school management and the school governing body (SGB) of Moses Machida High School whom have consistently performed well in all grades including grade 12 despite the conditions of their location and school infrastructure.

Since that period, MEC Jonas mobilised the social partners to contribute in ensuring that Moses Mabhida moves from strength to strength and Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) had hidden in this call and will be handing over site construction of administration block on the following date:

Venue: Moses Machida High School (Mdantsane, zone 16)
Time: 10h00
Date: 20 July 2010
