MEC visits the community of Ennerdale

MEC for Finance, Mr Mandla Nkomfe will be visiting the community of Ennerdale in the South of Johannesburg tomorrow, 8 December 2009.

He will visit the Ennerdale shopping centre and police station. The visit is part of the Gauteng provincial government Festive Season campaign to encourage citizens to act responsible during this festive season.

The campaign will include: clamping down on illegal drinking by motorists and pedestrians, encouraging traders to comply acquire a valid liquor licences, highlighting the socio-economic impact of alcohol abuse and promoting responsible drinking and trading.

Nkomfe said it was important that citizens celebrated the December festivities in a responsible manner.

“The festive season is a time for all of us to relax and enjoy ourselves however we need to it in a responsible fashion. Let’s not overdo things and observe the laws of the country.”

The MEC will be at these venues from 9h00.
