MEC for Infrastructure Development meets with Women in Construction to develop skills and contracting capacity

In order to develop and empower women in the construction sector Gauteng MEC for Infrastructure Development, Ms Nonhlanhla Mazibuko, will be engaging with 1 200 women in the construction industry at an indaba.

Issues that will be discussed include South African Revenue Service (SARS) registration and compliance of companies with SARS, Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) regarding the training programmes for contractors within the sector and Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), who will deal with the construction sector regulations. It is hoped that upon conclusion the following would have been achieved:

a. Skills development within the construction industry
b. Funding models available for emerging contractors
