MEC Ghishma Barry addresses law enforcement agencies


The Honourable MEC for the Ministry of Transport, Safety and Liaison, Ghishma Barry, will be addressing all the law enforcement agencies that were deployed for the 2010 FIFA World Cup at the Host City, Port Elizabeth on 12 July 2010, 10h00, at Nelson Mandela Stadium, in acknowledging the positive role they played.

Port Elizabeth has successfully hosted eight big matches during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. These matches attracted capacity crowds and no major incidents were reported.

The successful security handling of those matches was in line with the safety guarantee of the Eastern Cape Provincial Government gave to FIFA in staging a safe and secure 2010 FIFA World Cup. Law enforcement agencies are the primary players in providing safe and secure football environment.

The address will be attended by various law enforcement agencies, which will also be attended by Bhisho Legislature Safety Portfolio Chairperson, Honourable MPL Mninawa Nyusile, Nelson Mandela Bay Metropole (NMBM) Executive Mayor Zanoxolo Wayile, councillor Bicks Ndoni Chairperson NMBM Safety and Security Committee and the South African Police Service Provincial Commissioner General Mpumelelo Landu.
