KZN MEC for Transport Community Safety and Liaison will be addressing newly trained and recruited 750 volunteers under the Volunteer Social Crime Prevention Project (VSCPP) for deployment in the run up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup and beyond.

"The invariable outcome of this project would be a reduction in social crime, a corresponding reduction in the fear of crime and the ultimate promotion of KwaZulu-Natal as a safe place for communities, tourists and businesses hence we have increased the number of volunteers by 750," said Cele.
