MEC Barry to receive new traffic vehicles from Fleet Africa

MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Ghishma Barry will officially receive 22 new vehicles for provincial traffic officers from Fleet Africa Eastern Cape at a special function to be held at the Government Garage in West Bank, East London tomorrow at 09h00 sharp.

This will be followed by another 26 vehicles for traffic officers next week in an effort to improve their capacity for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
These vehicles form part of 282 vehicles, which are available for delivery, which include:

* Five LDV ambulances
* 10 panel van ambulances
* 15 emergency medical services response vehicles
* 221 vehicles for various government services.

During this event, MEC Barry is expected to outline how these vehicles will add value in improving service delivery in the province and our 2010 FIFA World Cup plans.
