The national Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) in partnership with the North West Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs will conduct a two day workshop for traditional leaders on various legislation that impact on the institution of traditional leadership.
The following topics will be discussed:
- New constitutional dispensation
- Peculiarities of provincial legislation
- Land use systems and administration of land
- Intergovernmental relations between the institution of traditional leadership and the three spheres of government
- Traditional leadership and governance
- Administration of justice
- Bills on the institution of traditional leadership.
