The Road Traffic Management Corporation participated in the International Driver of the Year Competition 2010 in Austria from 2 to 5 September. The South African team comprised of 16 professional drivers who were selected through a rigorous process of eliminations from regional, provincial and national championships in 2008/09.
Mr Juliano Hanse (21) from the Eastern Cape has won the Novice Rigid under 22 years category. For the first time since the inception of this competition, South Africa has produced a world champion on this category. He was the only representative in that category and has won himself a trophy and a medal.
