As part of closing the Women’s Month Programme, Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison is co-coordinating a Women’s March that will be held in Nelspruit on Saturday. The march is part of planned activities to enhance government’s efforts to reach out to all women and support their economic empowerment and social emancipation.
The march is expected to highlight among others challenges that often constrain women's economic development, access to education opportunities, domestic violence, sexual abuse, HIV/AIDS and reproductive health.
The department of Health and Social Development, Ehlanzeni District Municipality, Mbombela Local Municipality, Childline and other community formations are expected to participate.
The marchers will later present a memorandum to the Mpumalanga Premier, Mr. David Mabuza who will receive it on behalf of government. The march will commence from MAN’s Truck and Bus Depot to Mbombela Stadium Precinct.
