Background to SAIGA Reporting Award
SAIGA identified the need to introduce awards that recognise the pursuit of excellence in the annual reports published by public sector departments. The institute views the awards as a contribution to assist the National Treasury and public sector departments to meet the objectives of the Public Finance Management Act and related regulations (such as the Treasury Regulations).
The legislation and regulation aim to advance accountability and transparency in the public sector.
Minister Grant and officials of SAIGA and the Department of Transport and Public Works will be at the awards ceremony. All media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be opportunity for interviews and photographs.
