Transport Minister, Honourable Dipuo Peters will give a keynote address during the International Civil Aviation Day (ICAD) to be held in Bloemfontein on Friday, 6 December 2013 under the theme “Aviation: Your Reliable Connection to the World” as approved by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
Among others, the purpose of the annual celebration is:
- to establish and reinforce worldwide awareness of the importance of international civil aviation in the social and economic development of States, and
- to highlight the role of the ICAO in promoting the safety, efficiency and regulation of international air transport.
The annual celebration also aims to reach out to people in communities, who are less exposed to aviation and in South Africa the quest is to take aviation to our youth.
