Transport Deputy Minister to address National Avaition Safety Seminar and Industry Day

Transport Deputy Minister, Honourable Sindisiwe Chikunga will on 23 October 2013 deliver a keynote address during the National Aviation Safety Seminar and Industry Day in Benoni, Johannesburg under the theme ‘Creating a safety-conscious aviation environment’.

First established in 2006, the National Aviation Safety Seminar seeks to provide a platform where solutions to aviation safety matters can be discussed. The Seminar will bring under one roof captains of the aviation industry including speakers from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the South African Cicil Aviation Authority (SACAA), Recreational Aviation Administration, Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS), Aeroclub, South African Airways, the SA Weather Service, Airports Company South Africa (ACSA), the SA Express and 43 Air School.

The Seminar will look at the overall perspective and overview of the current status regarding aviation safety and map a way forward on possible interventions and give aviation industry members an opportunity to share their experiences and expertise regarding aviation safety.
