Members of the media are invited to attend the opening and closing ceremony, and a media briefing of the Africa-India Ministers of Trade meeting which will be hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) at the Sandton Sun Hotel, Johannesburg on Tuesday, 1 October 2013:
Opening ceremony Ministers of Trade: 09h00
Media briefing: 11h00
Inaugural event Africa-India Business Council: 10h30 - 11h00 (TBC)
Closing ceremony Ministers of Trade: 17h00
Both ceremonies and media briefing will be addressed by the Minister of Trade and Industry Dr Rob Davies, the Minister of Commerce and Industry from India, Mr Anand Sharma, the Chairperson of the African Union, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma as well as the Co-Chairs of the Africa-India Business Council .
The Africa-India Ministers of Trade annual meeting aims to enhance trade relations between Africa and India on the basis of mutually agreed priority areas, as well as to review the progress of the partnership in terms of commitments undertaken and implemented.
Please be advised that there will be live accreditation at the venue from 08h00-18h00 on 30 September 2013.
