The Portfolio Committee on Small Business Development will tomorrow, 20 August 2014 hold a meeting with the Ministry of Small Business Development to deliberate and analyse the effectiveness of the existing laws that govern the sector.
The purpose of the meeting is to relate these laws to the current environment in order to ascertain possibilities for a review. This is aimed at enhancing the development and sustainability of the Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) and Cooperatives.
The laws that will be deliberated upon include the Cooperatives Act, Apex Act and Intermediaries Act.
