The Department of Sport, Art, Culture and Recreation, will be hosting senior citizen talent search on Wednesday, 14 August 2013, in Matjhabeng area for the Lejweleputswa region. The 2013 senior citizen activity is structured in a talent search format which will include identifying talent in elderly citizen local Groups to take part and exhibit different cultural talent.
This initiative aims to:
- preserve and promote intergenerational bonding, embrace active ageing in creating awareness of the abilities and capabilities of older persons
- create awareness of the socio-cultural needs of older persons and to expand the horizons of older persons.
It is one of the department’s programs that would promote theatre, music and dance as a social and competitive activity in our community.
The festival will be hosted as follows:

Time: 10h00
Trophies and medals will be awarded to the winners in positions provided to all participants.
The event is expected to attract about 300 elderly citizens from different local municipalities in the Lejweleputswa district.
