The North West Provincial Legislature’s Standing Committee on Provincial Public Accounts (SCOPA) will hold Public Finance Management Act and Municipal Financial Management Act public hearings with departments and municipalities in the province.
At 13h30, the Public Accounts Committee will meet the MEC for the Department of Sports, Arts, Tebogo Modise together with the Premier of the North West Province, Mme Thandi Modise and MEC for the Department of Finance, Paul Sebegoe to brief the Committee about the archiving project that was identified by the department. This came after the Auditor-General’s findings that there is a big challenge on safe-keeping of documents.

The public hearings will be attended by MECs and departmental management; Mayors, Municipal Managers including senior management of municipalities, Municipal Public Account Committees, representatives from the Department of Finance, Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs and the Auditor-General’s office.
