Public Works Minister Thulas Nxesi, MP, inaugurates the new South African Council for the Landscape Architectural Profession body

Public Works Minister Thulas Nxesi, cordially invites you to the inauguration of the new South African Council for the Landscape Architectural Profession (SACLAP) in Muckelneuk, Pretoria on the 15th of October 2013 at the Council for the Built Environment offices. The Minister will address and share his vision for the new Council and outline objectives that are to be met.

SACLAP is the smallest of the built environment councils but it plays an important role in the built environment. With the dawn of a new era for the built environment, especially in light of the Presidential Infrastructure Project (PIP) and the global trend of sustainable development, the new council is challenged to play a significant role in the change of the built environment discourse and to ensure that issues of transformation continue to be are addressed.

The new Council members will serve a four year term of office from 30 August 2013 to 29 August 2017. In line with Section 3(1) of the Landscape Architectural Profession Act, Act 45 of 2000, the Honourable Minister Thulas Nxesi appointed the following members on the 30th August 2013.

This Council is one of the six professional Councils under the Council of the Built Environment (CBE) that oversees the regulation of professional registration of built environment professionals – namely the Landscape Architectural Professions.
