President Zuma to launch SABC 24 hour news channel

President Zuma will today, 1 August 2013, launch the much awaited 24 hour television news service of the South African Broadcasting Corporation, SABC.

The SABC is responding to the ever launches SABC 24 hour news channel increasing demand for up-to-date news broadcasts of events of national and international importance and to give a voice and platform to all South African citizens, both rural and urban.

The President will deliver a keynote address at the function.  He will also be interviewed live where he will speak broadly on current issues in South Africa, the continent of Africa and the world.
