President Zuma to launch Expanded Public Works Programme Phase 3

President Jacob Zuma cordially invites you to the launch of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) Phase 3. President Zuma will be joined by the Minister of Public Works, TW Nxesi, Ministers of the EPWP lead departments and other political principals as well as implementing bodies of the EPWP. During the launch, the delegates will embark on projects sites visits and interact with EPWP participants on site.The objective of the EPWP Phase 3 is to provide work opportunities and income support to poor and unemployed people through labour intensive delivery of public and community assets and services thereby contributing to development. The EPWP Phase 3 implementation approach is sought to create sustainable livelihoods by focusing more on service rendered, mainstream job creation and acquire assets required by the community.

The implementation of the EPWP Phase 3 has been going on since April 2014 after the five-year implementation of the EPWP Phase 2 ended in March 2014.The National Department of Public Works (NDPW) is the coordinating Department of the EPWP which is implemented by all spheres of government and across all EPWP sectors, namely: Infrastructure, Non State, Environment & Culture and Social sectors.
