President Jazob Zuma honours Chris Hani's life and legacy during wreath laying ceremony, 10 Apr

The President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Mr Jacob Zuma, will join Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Cllr Mondli Gungubele in commemorating the life of the late Thembisile “Chris” Hani at a wreath laying ceremony to be held on the 22nd anniversary of his death.

The ceremony will be held on Friday 10 April at the Thomas Titus Nkobi Memorial Park (South Park Cemetery) in Boksburg from 09h00.

The month of April has been dubbed Chris Hani month by the City of Ekurhuleni and Friday’s event is one of the highlights on South Africa’s political calendar.

This year, the President is expected to declare Hani’s grave a Heritage site and unveil the Chris Hani Memorial and Wall of Remembrance Monument.

Mineral Resources Minister, Adv Ngoako Ramatlhodi will deliver the annual Chris Hani Memorial lecture which will be held at the Germiston Lake Park on Friday evening from 18h00.
