President Jacob Zuma visits South African Nuclear Energy Corporation, 27 Nov

Members of the media are informed that His Excellency, President Jacob Zuma of the Republic of South Africa will visit the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (NECSA) as follows:

Venue: NECSA Visitors Centre at Gate 1, Elias Motsoaledi Street, R104, Pelindaba, Pretoria

NECSA operates the SAFARI-1 research reactor which is also used for the production of radioisotopes that are critical for nuclear medicine. Through Necsa and its subsidiary, NTP, South Africa is the world's second biggest exporter of nuclear medicine products. Necsa also play a critical role in providing advanced skills training for artisans. Necsa is also certified to design and manufacture components that are utilised in the construction of nuclear power plants.

President Zuma will have an opportunity to interact with the management and employees of NECSA.

Members of the media are invited to attend.

As this is a national key point, attending members of the media MUST bring identification documents for security purposes.
