President Jacob Zuma will tomorrow, 25 November 2013, visit the Ikhaya Lethemba Centre in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, to mark the start of this year's 16 Days of Activism of No Violence Against Women and Children Campaign. The campaign starts on 25 November and ends on 10 December every year.
Ikhaya Lethemba is an empowerment centre that was established by the Gauteng Department of Community Safety in 2004 to assist women and children who are victims of sexual, domestic and general criminal violence.
The centre provides the following services:
- Counseling services for adults
- Counseling services for children
- Medico-legal services
- Specialised police services (FCS)
- Family justice support services
- Residential shelter services
