President Ramaphosa to commemorate International Women’s Day in Tweeling, Free State

The President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, will join the Premier of the Free State, Sisi Ntombela, in commemoration of International Women’s Day on the 08 March 2020, in Tweeling, Mafube Local Municipality (MLM), Free State.

The event, to be attended by women from all sectors of society, will be held at the Tweeling Stadium, at 11am, under the theme: “I am Generation Equality: Realising Women's Rights”. The Generation Equality campaign is bringing together people of every gender, age, ethnicity, race, religion and country, to drive actions that will create the gender-equal world we all deserve.

On the day, President Ramaphosa and Premier Ntombela will also address a Young Boys Dialogue on Gender Based Violence (GBV), and officially open a Skills Development Centre that is equipped with a training facility which will assist women to learn how to create and develop goods and products, with the end goal of alleviating poverty and creating sustainable employment for themselves and promote small business development within the area of MLM, and bridge the inequality gap that women and young girls are facing.
