Premier Zille to open Paarl East Cape Access e-Centre

Today, Wednesday 7 August, Premier Helen Zille will officially open a Cape Access e-Centre in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Paarl East Thusong Centre. Cape Access e-Centres are part of the Western Cape Government’s investments to bridge the digital divide by providing computer and internet facilities to benefit poor communities.

Premier Zille spoke during her 2013/14 Department of the Premier budget speech about the importance of ICT development for increased economic competitiveness and growth as well as skills development. The rollout of Cape Access e-Centres is linked to the implementation of the provincial broadband strategy that aims to ensure greater access to information and promote a vibrant knowledge economy in the Western Cape.

Venue: Paarl East Thusong Centre, Van der Stel street, Paarl-East
(NB: Van der Stel Street has two separate sections and the Thusong Centre is on the section between Abattoir Street & Orleans Avenue. The section between Langenhoven Avenue and Klein Drakenstein Road is NOT the correct section.)
