Premier Stanley Mathabatha launches District Development Model, 7 Feb

The Premier of Limpopo, Chupu Stanley Mathabatha will launch Capricorn District Development Model. This follows the official launch of Development Model in Limpopo Province by President Cyril Ramaphosa last year on the 26th November 2019 at Ga-Shongoane Sports Ground, Waterberg.

The model aims to accelerate, align and integrate service delivery under a single development plan per district or metro that is developed jointly by national, provincial and local government as well as business, labour and community in each district. Each district plan will ensure that national priorities such as economic growth and employment, improvements to living conditions, the fight against crime and corruption and better education outcomes are attended to in the locality concerned. This development approach ensures that planning and spending across the three spheres of government is integrated and aligned and that each district plan is developed with the interests and inputs of communities taken into account upfront.

The intervention is also in line with the National Development Plan, which outlines the importance of building a capable state in partnership with the citizens of this country. This requires well-run and effectively coordinated state institutions staffed by skilled public servants who are committed to the public good and capable of delivering consistently high-quality services for all South Africans.

The launch will take place as follows:

Date: 07 February 2019
Venue: Polokwane Aganang Cluster Sport Ground (Ceres Village)
Time: 10h00
