KwaZulu-Natal Premier calls on people to celebrate 11th February

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Senzo Mchunu has called on the people of KwaZulu-Natal to celebrate the 11th February. He was speaking today ahead of the Dr John Langalibalele Dube Memorial Lecture scheduled to take place tomorrow in Inanda, Durban.

“The 11th February is not an ordinary day. The first President of the ruling party, ANC Dr John Langalibalele Dube was born on the 11th February 1871. He died on the 11th February 1946. Importantly, the first President of a free and democratic South Africa Nelson Mandela was released from prison on the 11th February 1990.”

“On behalf of the provincial government and the ruling party, the African National Congress, I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Dube and Mandela families for allowing all of us to come together tomorrow and reflect on the work of the two leaders who lived remarkable lives, one that inspired many generations.”

Media is invited and event starts at 11h00.
