Cabinet visits Amajuba District Municipality as part of service delivery

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Senzo Mchunu and his cabinet will tomorrow have a special sitting of Cabinet in Mbabane Sports Ground, Dannhauser in Newcastle under Operation Sukuma Sakhe.

“As we celebrate 20 years of our democracy, it is the ordinary people of this country who must taste the fruits of freedom. Government is the only engine that we can use to ensure that we add meaning to democracy was ushered in 1994.”

“Over the past five months I have been crisscrossing the province assessing service delivery. Importantly, we have been unveiling community projects which have been constructed as part of the rollout of social infrastructure projects. These include houses, roads, water and electricity and projects that are part of agrarian revolution.”

“One of the major achievements worth noting is the successful coordination and integration of the departmental programmes. The office of the premier has successfully ensured the creation of synergies amongst departments and the mobilisation of stakeholders in the process to maximise on service delivery.”

“This approach has focused on the inclusion of national departments in the planning processes of the provincial government. Importantly, through Operation Sukuma Sakhe we have ensured the deployment of all MEC’s as champions of rural development in all district municipalities and the aim is to support these municipalities in service delivery programs. Combined multi departmental teams have been deployed into districts to join hands with local councils in war rooms.”
