Winterveld Enterprise Hub set to revitalise township's economy, tackle youth unemployment
Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane together with the MEC for Economic Development Mxolisi Xayiya, will officially open the Winterveld Enterprise Hub: Automotive on Tuesday, 11 February 2014. The hub will address unemployment amongst youth in targeted low-employment areas.
The Winterveld Enterprise Hub facility is expected to support local automotive businesses by offering on-site training and business support. This includes technical training for auto body repairs and spraying, wheel, tyre, audio, sound fitment and repairs, auto spares, general motor mechanic, car wash and valet services; as well as skills to improve enterprise development.
The Hub targets existing automotive Small, Medium and Macro Enterprises (SMMEs) and entrepreneurs in the area. At the same time, training will be offered to unemployed members of the community with a view to ensure a supply of appropriately skilled workers in the area.
The media will get an opportunity to learn more about the project and interact with the entrepreneurs and beneficiaries.
