Gauteng unveils a one-stop centre for investors

Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane, together with the MEC for Economic Development, Mxolisi Xayiya will launch the Gauteng Investment Centre (GIC) this Thursday, 20 February 2014.

This initiative is aimed at reducing the cost of doing business and creating a business environment that is compatible with the status of a globally competitive city region.

The GIC will offer businesses and prospective investors in Gauteng a one-stop, seamless and hassle-free service with easy access to various government agencies and functions. It will house representatives from different spheres of government that are responsible for various aspects of trade and investment, business regulation, taxation and customs, environmental impact assessment as well as investment incentives.

The Department of Trade and Industry (dti), South African Revenue Service (SARS), Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (GDARD), Gauteng Enterprise Propeller (GEP) and municipalities are some of the partners that will have representation at the GIC.
