Premier Mokonyane reports back on progress made in Eldorado

Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane will tomorrow, 15 October 2013, meet key stakeholders in Eldorado Park, south of Johannesburg, to give feedback on progress made by government in addressing drug problem that has gripped this community for years.

Earlier this year, in response to the plea made by a group of concerned mothers on the drug and substance abuse, President Jacob Zuma visited the area and set up a multi sectoral committee which cuts across the three spheres of government, civil society formations and the private sector to address this scourge.

Premier and MECs will share latest intervention programmes, their results and impact since the Presidential visit. Part of the programme will include interaction with members of the community. Premier Mokonyane will be accompanied by MECs Faith Mazibuko (Community Safety) and Nandi Mayathula-Khoza (Agriculture and Social Development).
