Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane launches Census 2022 count, 2 Feb

Eastern Cape Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane will this afternoon, Wednesday 2 February 2022, join Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) for the official kick-off, of the Census 2022 enumeration project in the province from Gqeberha in Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality.

More than 17 000 fieldworkers will be sent into various communities to collect data from approximately 1, 7 million households within the borders of the Eastern Cape.

Premier Mabuyane has previously called for the maximum participation of individuals, households and institutions within the province, and has also wished the fieldworkers well as they start with data collection.

Data collection from dwelling units will start from 3 to 28 February 2022.

Stats SA is using 2 February 2022 as a reference night for the Census 2022 population and housing count.
