Premier launches Zivuseni Reloaded to tackle unemployment

Gauteng Premier, Nomvula Mokonyane together with MEC for Infrastructure Development, Qedani Mahlangu will on Tuesday, 12 November 2013, launch the Zivuseni Reloaded Programme.

Zivuseni Reloaded - an intensified Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), will enlist 5 000 beneficiaries and create short-term work opportunities for unemployed vulnerable groups including women, youth and persons with disabilities.

The programme contributes to poverty alleviation through activities including maintenance of health facilities, waste management; ash disposal, plumbing, construction and landscaping placing emphasis on the renewal of community assets.

All beneficiaries of Zivuseni Reloaded will undergo training to ensure skills development therein building local capacity in an effort to break the poverty cycle.

The Premier and MEC will also visit Leratong Hospital during the course of the day.
