Premier Mokgoro visits Dr KK District for mass screening, testing and contact tracing – AngloGold joins effort

North West Premier, Prof Tebogo Job Mokgoro will tomorrow – Thursday, 09 April 2020 – visit the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District to continue with the rolling out of the mass screening, testing and tracing programme that started early this week at Motswedi village in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District.

The Premier will be accompanied by Members of the Provincial Command Council, the Executive Mayor of Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality, Cllr Barei Mosiane-Segotso, Mayors from Local Municipalities in the district as well as executives from mining company, AngloGold Ashanti.

AngloGold Ashanti will be handing out masks, food parcels as well as water tanks to communities in Matlosana as part of their contribution towards the Provincial Government’s effort to fight the spread of COVID-19.

The programme will commence as follows:

Venue: Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality, Civic Centre, Patmore Raod, Orkney
Time: 10h00

There will be visits to various screening sites in the District as well as engagement with communities to urge them to go for voluntary screening for COVID-19.  

So far, over 8000 people across the Province have been voluntarily screened since Monday, 06 April 2020.
