Gauteng Premier David Makhura will on Thursday, 20 November 2014, address mourners at the memorial service in honour of the 22 Gauteng victims of the Nigerian church
building collapse. The service will be held at the Johannesburg City Hall, where more than 40 members of the victims' families are expected to attend.
Gauteng Government Faith Based Organisation's Convener and Infrastructure Development MEC, Nandi Mayathula-Khoza said the service would be a multi-faith prayer service
and will be addressed by different religious leaders. Other government leaders who will speak at the service include Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Mondli Gungubele.
The remains of the South Africans who died in Nigeria were repatriated to South Africa on Sunday through a South African government operation headed by the Minister in thePresidency, Jeff Radebe.
