The Provincial Government led by Premier Mr. Chupu Stanley Mathabatha will welcome the Cuban Five heroes’ delegation to Limpopo Province on the 28 June 2015.
The Cuban Five came to the country in the context of celebrating the 60th anniversary of the adoption of the Freedom Charter, with a spirit of respect and admiration for the struggle of the people of this nation against racial segregation and oppression.
Their visit, serves to express appreciation to the people, the government of South Africa and to Africans in general for their contribution in the international effort of solidarity to find a political solution to their prolonged and unjust imprisonment.
They will engage with the Friends of Cuba Society, with Cuban professionals operating in Limpopo, in an effort to share their experiences, convey messages of fraternal solidarity. Since 1994 Cuba and South Africa established diplomatic relations.
