Premier Winde & Local Government, Environmental Affairs & Development Planning Minister Bredell to address Western Cape Government Water Indaba
On Wednesday, 22nd March, Premier Alan Winde will address the Water Indaba. With the climate crisis making a reliable water supply unpredictable, and the province’s population predicted to grow significantly, the Western Cape Government (WCG) is planning for our future now.
“I have said on multiple platforms that after the energy crisis, the water crisis is the next challenge we must confront. The Indaba provides us with an opportunity to proactively deliberate on ways to make the province more water secure and showcase innovations to address water scarcity, as well as to promote measures to conserve this precious resource through partnerships,” said the Premier.
At the Indaba the WCG will share its 15-year Water Resilience Strategy, which allows the province to help municipalities manage their current and future water demand.
There will be a media briefing at midday.
