The Free State Provincial Government, led by Premier Ace Magashule, will be embarking on an Operation Hlasela Outreach Campaign tomorrow, 23 September 2014, in the township of Meqheleng, in Ficksburg. This Outreach Programme will essentially be a platform for engagements between Members of the Executive Council, where government will amplify achievements as well as highlight challenges and plans to resolve such.
Operation Hlasela, as the overarching programme of action of the Free State Provincial Government, is aimed at aligning the activities, resources and programmes of the three spheres of Government in a coordinated manner that avoids duplication and waste of resources in response to the attainment of the objectives of government as articulated in the five key priorities.
The Operation Hlasela Outreach Programme in Ficksburg will provide Political Principals with the opportunity to engage directly with the public; and also for citizens to engage face-to-face with Political Principals, to celebrate successes and to address challenges on implementation of Government programmes.
Some of the activities on the day include:
- cleaning of Zone 8 sewer spillage and illegal dumping sites, paving and fencing at Meqheleng Clinic,
- donation of blankets at Phuthuloha Hospital,
- monitoring visit to roads which are currently being rehabilitated
- demolition of old houses and handover of newly built houses
- opening of the Itekeng ECD and Disability Centre,
- announcement of crime statistics
- mass meeting with community, (Open area behind Boitumelo Secondary School, Meqheleng, Ficksburg) where food parcels and school uniforms will be distributed.
It remains the commitment of the Free State Provincial Government to ensure that it knows where people live, how they live, and alleviate the plight of those in need.
