Police commemorates Public Service Women Management week, 27 to 30 Aug

The Public Service Women Management week is held during the last week of August each year and provides space to review progress made in the empowerment of women and achievement of gender equality.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) will be commemorating Public Service Women Management Week, with a line-up of activities from the 27th – 30th August 2018 in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.

Senior Female Managers in the Service will meet to assess progress made in implementing Government’s 8-Principle Action Plan which seeks to address Women Empowerment and Gender Equality in the Public Service.

Visits and engagements at schools, police stations and community centres by the top female leadership of the Service will form part of the activities.

The lined-up activities will culminate in a media briefing where the female leadership of the SAPS will announce a 5-year plan to address women empowerment in the Service. The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service, General Khehla Sitole will be in attendance and will form part of the media briefing.
