Police and Safety and Liaison roll-out of Traditional Policing Concept at Qamata Great Place, 1 Mar

Media Invitation: Roll-out of the Traditional Policing Concept at Qamata Great Place

King William’s Town: The Department of Safety and Liaison together with the South African Police Service will jointly roll-out the Traditional Policing Concept at Qamata Great Place, Cofimvaba. The Traditional Policing Concept has been developed as a model for policing in rural traditionally led communities, as partners in the fight against crime.

The aim of the concept is to build capacity and strengthen partnerships in order to have a multi-disciplinary approach to address and reduce the fear of crime by jointly identifying the root causes, specifically in communities led by traditional leaders. Traditional Policing Concept is also one of the police’s endeavours to bring basic policing services closer to the community.

The roll out will be preceded by a door-to-door campaign in the area on Thursday, 28th February 2019. Various Government Departments will also provide Services on Wheels on the day of the roll out.

Members of the media fraternity are hereby invited to cover the programme.
